Venice, threatened by tourists

There are many ways of "walking" Venice. Ones cheaper than others. However, once you land in this parallel world you realise it is so fragile that makes you wonder whether your decision of stopping by has been right or, on the other hand, you are part of that lot that everyday floods this ephemeral city.

It was soon when we knew that Venice is not like many places, with respite areas, huge parks where you can get lost, relax and take a nap. Venice is definitely not. It is like you feel all the people weighing in to make the city sink. And that is precisely what it makes you feel like. You are one of those dots that contribute to make the city disappear. That may be the reason why the number of inhabitants falls considerably every year.

Regarding to the authenticity of props and historical garments, if you are thinking about buying one of those famous masks, make sure you purchase one at specialised shops, checking whether it is handmade.

Hay muchas maneras de "recorrer" Venecia. Unas más baratas que otras. Sin embargo, una vez desembarcas en este mundo paralelo te das cuenta de que es tan frágil que te preguntas si tu decisión de venir ha sido acertada o, por el contrario, tu formas parte de ese montón de gente que inunda esta efímera ciudad.

Pronto nos dimos cuenta de que Venecia no es como muchos lugares, con areas de descanso, grandes parques en los que perderse, relajarse y echarse una siesta. Definitivamente Venecia no es como esas ciudades. Es como si sintieras toda la gente presionando para que la ciudad se hunda. Y es así, precisamente, como te hace sentir. Tú eres uno más de esos puntos que contribuye ha hacer la ciudad desaparecer. Ésa puede que sea la razón de por qué el número de habitantes desciende considerablemente cada año.

En relación a la autenticidad de accesorios y vestidos históricos, si estás pensando en comprar una de esas famosas máscaras, asegúrate de comprarla en un tiendas especializadas, comprobando si es hecha a mano.
